Donna's Dolls

I am a retired psychotherapist and a long time doll artist from Massachusetts. I moved to Fort Bragg in 2021 to be near my daughter and son-in-law.

My dollmaking journey began about 40 years ago on a rainy afternoon. My daughter, then 9, and I were playing together with clay. To my utter amazement, a small figure of a woman out on the town seemed to emerge out of my hands from nowhere. I was surprised, delighted and excited!

And that was the beginning…. of many years of learning, imagining and creating dolls of all kinds. I use a variety of materials including wire, batting, clay and fabric, and each doll is unique.

I have also had the pleasure of making "made to order" portrait dolls and dolls for special occasions and significant life events.

Over the years I have offered small dollmaking groups to adults and to children for instruction and personal growth.
